Katsina lawmaker provides constituents with subsidised transport service

The lawmaker representing Kurfi/Dutsin-Ma federal constituency of Katsina State, Alhaji Aminu Balele, has provided his constituents with about 10 vehicles and 43 tricycles.
Balele also provided his people with free medical outreach, hospital facilities, drugs and N15 million scholarship to students.
Speaking during the presentation of the items on Tuesday in Kurfi Local Government Areas (LGAs), the lawmaker said the vehicles and tricycles were provided to ease their movements.
According to him, following the removal of fuel subsidy, many people have been facing a series of challenges moving from one place to another.
“Therefore, the people of my constituency need such subsidised transportation service to enable them continue with their normal life,” Balele said.
The lawmaker also disclosed that the provision of the subsidised transport service will assist students in the area, and also give them more hope.
He added that the medical outreach, hospital facilities and drugs were also to ensure that the people of the constituency get affordable healthcare.
According to him, the scholarship was also part of his campaign promises to support his constituents to get quality education, saying that more gestures are also on the way.
In his remarks, Gov. Dikko Radda commended the lawmaker for providing his constituents with the subsidised transport service and other support.
According to him, “This is the third of such an event that I have attended which was organised by the house of representatives members from the state.”
He added that such a gesture can alleviate the suffering of the people, saying that it is a welcome development that other lawmakers should also emulate. (NAN)
