adversaries must surrender, if they don’t, we’ ll keep coming after them – CDS

By Muhammad Tijjani

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Christopher Musa, has said that adversaries must surrender or the Armed Forces would keep going after them.

Musa said this on Monday in Kaduna,
while addressing participants of Senior Course 46 of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) Jaji, on his leadership style.

The tittle of the lecture was “Nigeria’s security and defence policies: my leadership concept for the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

Musa noted that any body who has doubt in the Armed Forces willingness and determination would see the result, while being optimistic that the Armed Forces would succeed.

He said that his peoples-centric leadership concept and committment in ensuring synergy amongst the Armed Forces would address the challenges of insecurity in Nigeria.

The CDS said that because of the challenges of insecurity the nation is facing, what ever the armed forces have to address must to do with the individuals, communities, citizens.

He noted that the Armed Forces must protect the individuals, communities and citizens rights while working as a team.

The CDS noted that the Armed Forces of Nigeria are people oriented, adding that they would be there for the people to always feel their presence.

“For us to succeed, the people must be happy with what we are doing, and this the center of our concept,”he said

He stressed that no single service can achieve success without the other.

“Now, our operations are going to be joint, everybody will have a role to play including the citizens we are protecting, members of the armed forces and the paramilitary,”he said.

“We want Nigeria to be peaceful and developed, we want every Nigerian to be proud of the country at any where.

He therefore said Nigerians must pray and support the Armed Forces, noting that one could do so much but God is the ultimate decider.

“We want Nigerians prayers and support in terms of information, intelligence and report their personnel who are found earring,”he said.

Speaking specifically on the issue of banditry in the Northwest, the CDS said it is the remnants of the adversaries that are showing that they are still there, noting that the military would take them all out in a matter of time.

He assured Nigerians that the current challenges of insecurity are summountable, while restating the Armed Forces readiness and willingness to achieve success as a team.
