Group call for cancellation of Lagos West Senatorial election

A Group under the auspices of group Truly and Fuly Arewa Movement has urged on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to council Lagos West Senatorial election results held in Lagos State February 25 following alleged irregularities in certain districts.
Mr Elijah Jubril, spokesperson of the Group disclosed this while addressing a press briefing in Kaduna.
According to the Group, the exercise did not meet the expectation of the ectorate.
"The district consist of 7,000 polling units spanking across 10 local government areas in Lagos State.
"It is sad to note that the election was disrupted by a lost of irregularities including; late arrival of election materials, destruction/malfunctioning of BVAS machines, insufficient security personnel in major polling units," he said.
Other irregularities according to the Group were; non transmission of results in the polling units, hoodlums destruction of BVAS machines.
"In view of the aforementioned, we call for the total cancellation of the election by INEC to set aside a new date for fresh election in the entire 7,000 polling units accross the 10 LGAs of the Senatorial District.
"We also call on the local and international observers to draw the attention of INEC with immediate effect," he said.
