Opinion pool for Kaduna gubernatorial candidates.
An opinion poll conducted by Kaduna Progressive Group (KPG) has put the APC governorship candidate in likely position to win the governorship election in Kaduna State.
The Chairman of the group, Dr Bashir Ibrahim stated in a press statement issued on Sunday in Kaduna.
Ibrahim said a total of 58,445 participated on the opinion poll and the participants fell within the age group of 18 years and above .
He said those who are qualified to vote in the polls are from 23 local governments cutting across 255 wards and the 3 senatorial zones.
According to him, a fresh survey that Kaduna Progressive Groups commissioned in November 2022, APC is still expected to win the governor’s race in Kaduna State in 2023.
He stated that the opinion poll is based on the following criteria for candidates, which included experience, competence, empathy, mindset, trust, popularity, and innovation as our scoring points.
He also mentioned that there are many opinion polls currently running, but ours is different in that we gave people more time to decide and that only Kaduna residents were included.
“Voting in our Kaduna state Governorship opinion polls was different from voting in other groups where voters from other states may participate.
“In our system, a participant can only cast one vote, while other people can cast several votes, “he said.
Ibrahim said the state wide poll shows a significant lead taken by Mal Sani of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Honorable Isa Ashiru Kudan of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) respectively trailing behind him.
Sen. Sulaiman Hunkuyi of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) emerged as a distant third behind Isa Ashiru Kudan while the labour party candidate Mr Jonathan Asake come fourth behind the NNPP candidate Senator Sulaiman Hunkuyi.
“The results showed 37.53 percent of voters willing to vote for Mallam Sani if the governorship election were to be conducted today, and 26.74 percent proposing to vote for Honorable Isa Ashiru Kudan who fell in second place.
‘Senator Sulaiman Hunkuyi came third with 19.08 percent and Mr Jonathan Asake was a distant fourth with only 16.63 percent of voters proposing to vote for him, “he claimed.
He said Malam Sani’s 10.79 percent point lead at this stage is very significant and also sufficient for him to win the 2023 elections.
The Group Chairman called on general public to respect the rule of law in the upcoming general elections and politician to embrace the peaceful in all their activities.
