A Non Governmental Organization (NGO) Glovis Entrepreneurial and Leadership Development Foundation (GELD Foundation), in its program aimed at putting smiles on the faces of widows, has supported 400 widows with food items and cash.
The support were given across Abuja, Kaduna, Kwara, Oyo, Kano, Nassarawa and Plateau state.
As every December of the year brings joy happiness to families and communities, GELD Foundation considered it necessary to put smiles to the faces of widows and their families.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that, graciously, in 2021 they achieved distribution of food items and cash gift to 252 beneficiaries and families in six states.
GELD Foundation's program as envisioned by the founder, Mr Kayode Akinade, is aimed at putting smile on the faces of widows through distribution of raw food materials, Christmas Card and Cash gifts to support the widows and encourage them; especially in the Yuletide season of December 2022.
This project also captures data entries of the shortlisted widows in respect to their businesses, home locations, physical well-being, and educational background among other details of importance.
The essence of the program is keenly to put smile on the faces of widows and their families during the Christmas season, and also to get their data captured in respect of accessing future support to their business and development of entrepreneurial skill that can improve the management of their businesses and enhance productive living while supporting them on a journey management to financial independence.
Furthermore, the fundation is committed to alleviating poverty by enhancing the standard of living of women, youths and widows that are engaged in small scale trades/crafts through business management and entrepreneurship training on how to move their business forward, financial empowerment and improve their standard of living.
The foundation has also developed several social and humanitarian projects for the benefits of women (widows) and youths in the society in general and had looked forward in doing more.
At GELD Foundation, they always appreciate the continuous contributions and support of all their partners and stakeholders who had shown interest to the betterment of the society.(NAN)

The 70-year-old posted a photoshopped picture of Messi wearing a cap with his infinity sigil.
Along with the photo was a message that said, "Emi lo kan of Doha."
The saying 'Emi lo kan' used to describe Messi’s world Cup triumph emanates from Tinubu's campaign for the office of the President of Nigeria.
Tinubu is a candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) political party aiming to retain power following the conclusion of the reign of Muhammadu Buhari.
