An advocacy group for the APC, S7-4-BATS-2023, on Saturday pledged to secure six million votes for the party's presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu and his deputy Kashim Shettima, from the North West region of the country.

"The seven North West States has 186 local governments, 1,748 wards, and 41, 671 polling units in which our movement have 18 representatives at all the levels.

"This statistic is strategic, and powerful instrument for successful implementation of our innovatve plan to produce at least six million votes for Tinubu/Shettima as well as other APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections,"he said.

Giant further said that they would promote the externalities of their unifying movement through youth summit, sport tournaments, security discuss, women symposium and Inter-tettiary competition and other viable programes.

He also said that their strategy of effective data collection, with enough manpower and logistics, would translate into better results that would eventually assure the victory of the APC, in the  coming 2023 election.

"We will equally occupy space on all social media outlets and campaign day-in and day-out,"he said.

The National Coordinator further said that in terms of running the movement, it was a collective effort of their  tireless executive members, volunteers and patrons.

According to him , the S7-4-BATS-2023 mode of  operations brought people together and  carried their members along, while accepting other members from various political parties, organisations, and groups who are willing to work for the APC.

He said the  movement, included women associations, youth groups, NGOs, student associations, and civil society organisations who  come together as united front to ensure that Bola Tinubu becomes the next president of Nigeria.

He explained that the S7-4-BATS-2023 Tinubu/Shettima movement comprised professionals, seasoned politicians, technocrats, academics, journalists, lawyers, business men and women, as well as philanthropists from the seven North-Western States.

He noted that the seven Northwest states found a common ground and insights to voluntarily work together for the victory of Tinubu/Shettima in the coming 2023 presidential elections.

According to him, their desire to support Tinubu/Shattima was out of strong nationalism, and benevolence for the good people of the North.

"In so doing we put our search light looking for a candidate with leadership quality and will to solve Nigeria's problem as a nation, the track records of the duo speak volume and is visible for all to see in Lagos and Borno States respectively.

"This is a pointer that these are real unifiers who have ability not just to unify party members but have the capacity to unify our beloved country and renew the hope of the common man in  Nigeria as oppose to other candidates that clearly couldn't unify their party members talkmore of our great nation,"he said.

Giant added that the S7-4-BATS-2023 movement was a unique support group with a goal of unifying North-Western Nigeria to support Tinubu/Shettima mandate come in 2023 general elections.

He thanked the Board of Trustees Chairman, Governor Muhammad Matawalle of Zamfara State, and all the APC Governors in North-West and as well as the party candidates.(NAN)(www.nannew.ng)

Tinubu ran out of the country to dodge Arise TV debate - PDP

The PDP said the ruling party is shielding its presidential candidate from public engagements with other candidates to cover up his "baggage."

This comes as Tinubu jetted out of the country for the United Kingdom on Saturday, December 3, 2022, where he's billed for an engagement at the Chatham House in London on Monday to speak on security, economy, and foreign policy.

The development comes barely a day before the presidential town hall meeting organised by Arise TV in partnership with Centre for Development and Democracy (CDD) to engage candidates from the four major political parties in the country.

The Director of Media and Publicity, APC Presidential Campaign Council, Bayo Onanuga, said in a statement titled, ‘Tinubu Won’t Succumb to Arise News’ Blackmail,’ that he found it ‘shocking and downright anomalous’ that Arise TV continues to broadcast the participation of Tinubu in its town hall meeting despite an earlier statement that he would not be available for the engagement.

PDP accuses Tinubu of dodging: Reacting to the development, the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Organisation insisted that the trip abroad was perfectly timed for Tinubu to avoid the Arise TV debate.

This was contained in a statement by the organisation's spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan.

The statement partly read: “It is clear that the foreign trip embarked on by Asiwaju Tinubu was a deliberate plot to dodge the Arise TV debate scheduled to hold on Sunday (today) following the fear that Nigerians will take him to task on the FCT relocation plot, alleged criminal indictments, perjury, forgery and inconsistencies in age, name, ancestry and education qualification.

“Moreover, the handlers of the APC presidential candidate are not comfortable to put him before the cameras because of his constant embarrassing gaffes that question his fitness for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
