The Council of Imams and Ulamas in Kaduna State says it will hold an interactive session with governorship candidates of the various political parties for the 2023 General Elections.
The Assistant Secretary of the council, Sheik Musa Tanimu, who said this at a news conference on Wednesday in Kaduna said that the interactive session will hold on Saturday.
He recalled that on Sept. 22, the council drew the attention of politicians and political agitators to desist from making statement that may bring disunity among people in the state.
“This time around the focus is to inform the general public of the council’s intention to have an interactive session with all gubernatorial candidates in the state.’’
He explained that the interactive session was to understand their focus and vision for the state and also an opportunity to seek for clarification as the case may be.
According to him, as a stakeholders, the council will continue to ensure only credible candidates are elected so that the state is governed by sincere and trustworthy person.
“The council is calling on any other candidate to come forward to make their vision know for the populace to decide.
He noted that the council was taking no side with any candidate but rather give opportunity to all.
“The council is reminding all political actors and agitators to conduct their camping’s in a peaceful manner without any rancour and devoid of unprecedented statement that my cause breaches of law and order.
