The National Orientation Agency (NOA) in its continued effort of enlightening citizenry on government policies, programmes and activities on Tuesday solicited the support of critical stakeholders in Kaduna.
Galadima Zubair-Soba,the state director NOA ,made this known when he led the management team of the state directorate of the agency on an advocacy visit to the head of service Kaduna state and other stakeholders.
He mentioned that the advocacy visit was to solicits for their support for the agency’s various campaigns on drug abuse as well as inculcating the preventive protocols and guidelines of COVID 19 among others.
“Also,to solicits your support on government’s current policies particularly on deregulation of the downstream sector and the enthronement of good governance, transparency and accountability through the provision of the freedom of information act(FOIA)”, he said.
Soba also stated that the agency had deployed several communication platforms to reach the various segment of societies in Kaduna which would harness people responses.
He added that it was frightening to learn that despite the almost daily lost of lives as a result of COVID 19 there were many Nigerians who still don’t believe on the existence of disease.
“The agency therefore, pursuant to its broad mandate is concerned about this disbelief of some people on the virus and the negative perception of some Nigerians on policies and programmes of government.
“This is why we are embarking on this exercise”, he said.
Meanwhile, the head of service , Mrs Bariatu Mohammed stated that the state government would give NOA all the necessary support needed for the campaign.
She added that it was very important for citizens to know about government policies, programs and activities.
