The wife of the immediate past General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 1 Division Nigerian Army, Kaduna, Mrs Maimunatu Ali-Keffi, has bagged the United Nations (UN) award on humanitarian service.

Mrs Ali-keffi, was also the immediate past Chairperson Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) 1 Division Chapter in Kaduna.

The award which was given to Mrs Ali-Keffi on August 19, was also accompanied by commemoration of the years' world humanitarian day in Abuja.

In her remarks and vote of thanks, Mar Ali-keffi, thanked Allah for making her a reciepient of the award.

She also thanked her husband, Maj-Gen Danjuma Ali-keffi for being the 'wind beneath her wings', for supporting her vision and giving her the opportunity to be humane.

"Also a special thanks to my children for their love, perspective and for applauding me and cheering me even on my difficult days", she expressed.

Mrs Ali-Keffi urged Nigerians, both wealthy and average to inculcate the habits of showing love and kindness and join hands to celebrate the day by positively touching the lives of the needy and less privileged.

"You should at your own capacity endeavor to touch the lives of orphans; widows and the less priviledge to make the world a better place, It is not about money, it is based on your fundamental belief, therefore, I encourage you all to be the reason someone smiles today and never lose faith in humanity".

"Your impact on other people is bigger than what you think; someone still giggles when they think of that funny thing you said, someone still smiles when they think of the compliment you gave, someone silently admires you, the advice you gave can make a difference, the support and love you have offered others can make someone's day".

"Your input and opinion has made someone think twice, so know that you will never be insignificant or forgotten, your existence will make a difference whether you see it or not, thank you UNESC for recognizing people like me in our efforts to give back to our society, thank you for the honor ", Mrs Ali-Keffi said.

The kidnapped students of Bethel Baptist High School released by bandits on Saturday have reunited with their families.

The students, who spent 46 days in captivity reunited with their families amid tears on Sunday, August 22, 2021.

The parents of the students were prevented from speaking with journalists by officials of the Baptist church.

While addressing the press, Israel Akanji, president of the Nigerian Baptist Convention said 63 of the students are still with their abductors.

“Although the number was smaller than what we were expecting because we had 78 children out there. They had earlier given us 15, that means 63 to come.

“But in everything, God said we should give thanks and we are giving thanks for what he has done. We are trusting that the same God who has brought these 15 out is going to help us to receive the other 63.

“We have great hope in God, we will keep praying and asking God for help,” he said.
